Sable & Soil ("we", "us") operates this property marketplace at sable-soil-by-kivan.base44.app. We are the responsible party for the personal information processed through this site, as contemplated by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, phone number, and property listing details when you create a listing or submit an enquiry. When you browse listings, we also record basic usage information such as which property pages are viewed and how often, to help sellers and administrators understand listing popularity. We do not collect special categories of personal information through this site.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to operate the marketplace: publishing your listings, routing buyer enquiries to you as a seller, facilitating contact between buyers and sellers, providing listing analytics, processing featured placement and advertising arrangements, and keeping the platform secure. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sharing with third parties
Buyer enquiry details (name, contact details, and message) are shared with the seller or agent of the relevant property — that is the purpose of the enquiry form. We may also share information where required by law, or with service providers who host and maintain the platform on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use session storage to remember which listings you have already viewed, so view counts stay accurate, and we use platform analytics to understand aggregate site usage. These tools do not build advertising profiles of you, and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
6. Data retention
We retain your listing and enquiry information for as long as your listing is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping. You may request deletion of your listing or account information at any time by contacting us.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. However, no online transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
